Hi,

Could anyone help me out finding service manuals for an Acer Aspire 1644 and an Acer 5920?

I've had a look, but the only downloads I can find are from sites that look a bit less than reputable and want a bit too much personal info for my liking! Cheers!

thanks, but it was actually the service manuals I was after - to strip them down and replace the power jacks?

the 1644 is harder to find , looks like the bad news is that is fixed to the motherboard and needs a total dismantle unlike the 5920 which is a plug in unit (and possibly only need partial dismantle, possibly only seperating the top part from the bottom to get enough room to plug in)

You're right - the 1644 looks like a full dismantle! The 5920 looks a bit easier - I might try that one first!
