Is it worth upgrading to this or are there still problems with it?

  • It's the best IE yet and I have found it to be quite fast. However it is still buggy, particularly regarding CSS so I'd use it only when you have to.

I use Firefox most of the time and I have rarely have any problems. Opera is also very good.

Seems OK, thought rendering was a bit quicker (2Gb RAM though!) Not switched back from Firefox yet though. Waiting for FireFox 2 to see what that's like. Also he Adblock add-in to Firefox is too good to give up on easily.

I like it, its a lot cleaner and I have found it to be fast, the only thing that does bug me is when I want to put a link in on MSE I have to click to temp allow scripted windows. But all I have to do is find out where I turn this off.

    Otherwise I would recomend it.

if you dont have genuine xp , dont try and download it elsewhere at the moment as there are some very nasty viruses attached to some downloads, they will trash your pc, believe me , totally trash

Erm, yes get an original copy of XP, it should work fine as well as the Windows auto update feature. ;)

IE7 is OK, seems quite fast and stable, although last night I had a bit of weirdness. Tried to put in my email address and password on https://www.espares.co.uk to order something and it wouldn't take my password. Tried it in Firefox and it worked fine.

BTW Firefox 2 is available (I'm using it now in fact). See this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=289626

It does render CSS different to how IE 6 did and so some websites dont work properly under it (though if you use different browsers like Firefox you will be used to this). thankfully it is is no way near as different as some of the earlier Betas were - if it had been like them then all of our websites would have been rendered totally unuseable
