Yay - finally some good news with our house purchase

We have just had a phone call from the EA to say that the 1st charge on the repossession we are buying has decided to lift the charge on the property. Up until now the 2nd charge had issued the repossession and accepted our offer but the 1st charge hadn't actually agreed to anything.

This means we are nearly there, just need to speak to the solicitor tomorrow and make sure the indemnity insurance is applied for one of the search results then that's it - we are ready to exchange and complete (I may be pushing it but hopefully by Friday!).

I've been waiting to exchange since Monday. I thought everything was ready but apparently my solicitor needs confirmation from Nationwide that releasing funds on completion is just a formality. They wrote to Nationwide on 23 November and we still don't have anything from them. No idea if this is normal (don't remember this last time I brought, I thought an offer was enough).

Oh gosh we are getting our mortgage with Nationwide - I hope they sort it out soon for you.

I'm sorted now so whatever we needed from nationwide has been provided!

Interested in what this was - we are not using the same lender but my worst nightmare is lender pulling out now we're exchanged. Our offer is well in time but we were subject to some kind of random audit after we received the offer. There are always stories about people pulling out and losing deposits as a consequence. Let us know if you find out what your solicitor received from the lender to confirm.

Glad it is all sorted. We were suppose to exchange today but the solicitor was snowed in and no-one else knew what was happening.

SO we are exchanging Monday - even though the other solicitors are not working because they are having a ''shopping'' day!

We can't complete until Friday because Nationwide need 5 days to release funds.
