Satellite signal is not being recieved

Never had this problem with an aerial.

Funnily enough all the kids cartoon channels can be recieved but sky channels, news, weather, no chance.

Little bit of wind, rain or snow and the signal gets blocked.

The message does suggest turning the box off for a few mins and trying again (nope didn't work) or calling their over inflated cost, no help at all customer service centre (saynoto 0870, but that still doesn't mean they're any help when you do get through, and even if they were, they can't force the signal to reach to my dish)

Gets right on my wick that you pay for a service and cant get it because of a little bad weather (different if they were driving the product to me, but its sent digitally)

That is all, vent over, oooh, that feels better

You could try removing the snow from the dish outside, this happened to someone else and thats all it was :)

LOL, nice to see a good ol vent gets a sensible answer, wasn't looking for one as I assumed it was the actual cloud cover or snow in the atmosphere blocking the signal but OMG!!! looked at my dish and its just one great big white blob! Funny how it only effects some channels and not all, sure someone more technical minded could explain that.

Cheers for coming up with a reason for me to leave my nice cosy, warm, house to go sort out the signal :p:beer:

It's amazing that Sky have managed to master the art of broadcasting some things in new fandangled 3D and putting a bit of a push on the sales of it but they still can't master the art of getting a signal in a bit of bad weather.... I'm so glad we moved to cable as we don't get that problem now.

It's nothing to do with Sky, it's just physics. If you block the signal with a big lump of snow on the dish, you will lose that signal, no matter what broadcaster it is. Secondly, Sky do not own these satellites they just rent the space from the actual owners.
