Scottish Power - different email addresses

I manage a number of rental properties and, having searched for better electricity deals, I moved one supply to Scottish Power. I then moved two more, but heard nothing from SP re these two properties and so, after some time, I called SP and was told that my email address was recorded incorrectly. I have now recieved a letter from SP saying my first property account email is wrong, but I had had emails from SP for that account.

Having spoken with SP today I learnt that I need a seperate email account for each supply...!! I can open free email accounts, but it seems odd that when I can log into my BT account to view three seperate accounts, SP do not have that facility or any plan to introduce it. It is even odder that they delete email addresses from a current account if you open a second account with the same email address! However, you only learn about it if you phone them to ask what the problem is. Have others encountered the same problem?

It's an obvious security feature, so that someone else can't use your email address to access the account, Just open a Gmail account for each property, takes 5 mins.
