Hi
Something has latched onto my Ebay account. Example :- I’ve just sold an item, whenever I click on the item, in the bottom right hand corner of my monitor the same product being sold by someone else appears, could be at Amazon or in fact any other website selling the same product. Can anyone suggest what to do to exterminate it ( besides calling in the Daleks) I'm stuck.

Start by running your virus scanner (making sure it's been updated first)0

Are you using firefox? Could be a price-comparison plugin like Invisible Hand0

Hi I'm on IE 8 but that, sounds about right for what is in my computer. I am running one care at the moment to see if that will pick it up do you have any suggestions I could try
My normal security is Norton antivirus which is up to date.0 -
Download MALWAREBYTES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Open malwarebytes and goto UPDATE and click 'check for updates'. After its updated goto SCANNER and click PERFORM QUICK SCAN then click SCAN
Remove everything thats found (needs to be ticked)
Post the COMPLETE log here AFTER youve deleted everything it finds
If anything was found then do the exact same but run a FULL scan
reboot
Download HIJACK THIS (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
Click MAIN MENU then DO A SYSTEM SCAN AND SAVE A LOGFILE(Takes seconds) then post the log so we can see whats running
(do NOT do anything else with Hijack but scan and post the FULL log)
If you get a message that you cant write to the hosts file then Press the SHIFT key, and whilst holding it RIGHT CLICK and select RUN AS (admin):idea:0 -
Thanks for the help, aliEnRIK I was going to do what you said if One Care did not eliminate the gremlin but luckily for now it's gone, keeping fingures crossed. Thanks once again. :T :beer:0
