After much hoo ha and being left on hold while they tried to find a supervisor and failed miserably they said if she rings them from Africa and authorises cancellation they will give a full refund.
I cant believe they would rather lose a customer completely than defer the renewal date by 2 weeks.
I wouldn't believe them about giving a full refund if your daughter rings to cancel, they will definately slap on the cancellation fee and charge the period already covered, which will work out a lot more than 2 weeks.
They are not a charity to defer what has already been covered, if it works like that it means not only will they lose a month of money, also the policy holder could not opt to insure with them having only given them the word on the phone. They might aswell cease to trade as a business.0 -
This will always the be the problem when dealing on the phone with the cheapest insurance, you are dealing with call centre staff and that's seldom a fruitful exchange.
Try using a proper insurance company that has local offices or representatives, they are usually obliging (depending on the area and the type of staff) and have the authority to make a decision, you'll never go back to internet/phone jokers.0 -
