Giant rabbits are lovely. I had a friend with a British Giant that was a great house rabbit. I had a French Lop myself who was pretty big and also a large Rex.
Rabbits make great house pets, mine had an indoor cage with the door permanently open so he was free to roam. He did his 'business' in a litter tray in the corner of his cage. Just had to keep wires out of the way so they didn't get chewed! He also got access to outdoors too and mixed quite happily with my soppy old collie! He also had a small cuddly teddy with a bow tie on. He used to love playing fetch with it and picked it up by its bow tie. Yes, he was a bunny - I promise!

I couldn't resist a google and found this: http://www.rabbitrehome.org.uk/care/giantrabbits.asp I thought the biggest issue would be housing - I'd probably keep a giant rabbit indoors and have a room of it's own. But looks like there's a few things to think about.Baby Giz born 6/2/110

We has some Belgian Hares (large breed rabbit, despite the name) and Flemish Giants where I used to work... be warned, they aren't the healthiest or most robust animals, and they do not tend to live very long! I think its another case of breeding for one characteristic (eg. size) at the expense of health and vitality.0

When I was in the vets here a woman came in carrying what I thought was a dog and when she sat down I saw it was a HUGE rabbit. She said she breeds and shows them and had 7 of them. The rabbit was honestly bigger than my border terrier, much bigger - must have been a real weight.
There must be a forum, have a google for one.0 -
I have 2, 3 year old giant bunnys. Marble a giant papillon cross and Pepper a flemish giant. Pepper is masive, double the size of marble!
The flemish is like a big teddy bear, Very laid back, lazy and as hes so big he doesnt groom his back end so have to brush him every few days. The papillon is very fiesty, doesnt like being held and is the boss of the 2 even though hes half the size! They are both bucks as had Marble castrated so he could have a mate but the doe turned out to be a buck! So Pepper had to be castrated also so they didnt fight.
I keep them in a dog run in the back garden. They take up and lot of my time and to be honest I dont think I would have any more. Its no fun cleaning them out ect, every day esp when its soo cold!0 -
