Editing Mpeg2 Files

hi guys
just got myself a tv card which is working great but it records in the mpeg2 format.
is there an easy and free program available so i can edit the programmes i am recording so i can just save the bits i want on my pc and not get stuck with the whole recording?
i did google this and it seems it can be tricky editing mpeg2 files is this right?

sorry cant find anything for you free, there are a few free downloads but purchase reqd after 15 days $19.99 yes dollars seems to be the cheapest

what the others said , look for mpeg cutter.

The software you got with the card should allow cutting , if not then look out a dvdmaker dongle , you can get them for 20 quid and utilise the software for cutting and joining mpeg2 files.
