Ok so I had opened a previous post about my SO's account being closed due to dormancy,he traced it successfully through lostaccounts.co.uk and recieved a letter abroad to say it was no longer a closed and dormant account, however he tried using his card and it was swallowed and he cant do online banking either. So he rang them up and they say he can't do anything from abroad that he has to go to the branch himself with some ID. They say they can't help him ,,,,, any loopholes out there? They said that they can't transfer his money either., he won't be there until next summer!
HELP?!

I appreciate your dilema. However, I can't make head nor tale of your post. Sorry.0

yes next summer, we are both abroad and Barclays say they cannot help him , that he has to go to the UK with his ID in order to access his funds. He has no debit card and no internet banking access. His branch said this. What can we do?
Its a pain because although I have money its all in an ISA since we were using his funds, so now I am using ISA money I can't put back in.0 -
How about opening (if you can from abroad) some savings account - one of those with a 'linked' account with DD. Then, provided you know how much is in Barclays. drag it out and then move it from the savings acccount to the correct home?0

He would have to go into the branch with the id, Barclays would have to confirm that the dormant account they have opened up is actually for the correct person before they allow any proper transactions other than branch pay in/withdrawal to take place.0
