Thanks to the OP. Just received my order - 30 bottles of wine for £59 including postage, can't complain about that!

Wasn't sure if it would work as I have ordered from them once before - quite recently - taking advantage of another offer. But had no problems. Case of 12 + case of 6 + free case of 12.

    Thanks very much :T

  • My order arrived today but.............

despite asking them to leave the wine with the reception of my flats (there are concierges there), they just left the 2 cases of wine outside my block so they could have been taken by anyone. Just by luck my husband spotted them on his way in, and brought them in.

Was planning on phoning to complain, but then someone suggested that I wait and tell them that I never received the order, so that they re-send it. They wouldn't have the security of a signature because they didn't leave them with the reception.

So, moral dilemma - do I just warn them about the risk that their delivery drivers expose them to, or do I get an even better deal of 48 bottles for just over 50 bucks??

    What would you do?

Despite the cost of living, have you noticed how it remains so popular?

brazilianwax - I think Laithwaites offer the same guarantee as Virgin Wines do; that if your wine goes missing they will replace free of charge.

However I don't think you should lie and say that you did not receive it - you have already got a huge bargain :o

I just looked in the web specials and bin ends sections, can't remember which ones now, but there was a very cheap bin end of 6 whites that I like (pinot grigio), and a cheap case of 12 whites from the web specials section.

I took up Laithwaites mixed case offer at this time last year. It will be pot luck about whether people like the wine or not. In my case of 15 there were 4 different wines - 1 I liked, 1 I loathed and 2 indifferent.

What I really found objectionable was that Laithwaites sent me another case a couple of months later without me ordering it.

When I went back over the bumf that had been included with the delivery I found a small notice at the bottom of one of the advertising leaflets stating that they would send me a case every 3 months unless I declared in writing prior to each delivery date that case was not required.

It took several weeks of angry 'phone calls and letters to get them to collect the unwanted case.

Personally, I wouldn't touch this company with a bargepole - no matter how cheap the wine might be, it really isn't worth the effort.

Was just about to try this deal but I am a bit concerned about the above. Has anyone had extra cases delivered that they didn't ask for?
All my savings are going on the family holiday!

Off to Majorca again this year ;-)
