Barclays Joint Account

We've recently opened a joint account with Barclays. My partner already banked with them so we thought it would be quite simple to add me.
So off we went to the bank, got me added to the account and told that I would receive my card within in 5 to 10 days. When this card didnt arrive we went back to the bank, only to be told the girl hadn't opened the account properly previously. So it was all redone and a new card sent out.
All seemed to be good, until a bank statement arrived with my name on, but not my boyfriends. Any correspondence from the bank comes in my name only, not joint. The cheque book is in my name but we both have cards.
The second stumbling block we have is that only his card works with the PinSentry not mine. I'm not sure whether this is because we have different surnames (and you need your surname to log in) or if my card wont work with the PinSentry.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

premierfella is correct - you both have to register for online banking and you will both have different membership numbers. His membership number will be linked only to his card via PINSentry.
On the subject of statements, we had a similar problem. We got everything sent twice (one addressed to me and one to my wife). Tried many times to explain what a waste of time it was (they argued they had to for legal reasons), but in the end I finally got them to send a joint statement.
Interestingly though, if you are genuinely set up as a joint account, one of you can request online statements only and it will turn off paper statements for everyone on the account0 -

It will definitely be a joint account as you both have debit cards, but the Personal Banker in the branch has set all literature, including statements, to be sent to you. Unfortunately, it's a common error, and easily rectified by calling Telephone Banking. Have you tried calling before you posted on here?0 -
Many thanks for the replies, in fairness I did try calling them, btu becuase of the snow I think they were experiencing high call volumes, but if its easily fixed, I'll sort that tomorrow.
Thanks again everyone!0 -
Did you get it sorted?0
