£50 for opening a bank account with hsbc

I found out about this just this morning.

Open a new bank account and use their switcher service and they give you a reward of £50.

I am serial switcher so have applied online. Hopefully by the time I get my £50, Santander will bring back their £100 offer!

Did this a while back when they also had £30 top cash back but haven't got round to closing the account so probably don't qualify for it again

Hi,

I wondered if there was any limit on switching bank accounts, do you know?

I've switched once before, a year ago now and want to do it again to get the offers. Is there any drawback in doing this say every 12 months?

Hi. My experince says no - you can keep switching. I have had £300 from the Alliance & Leicester for 3 new accounts in as many years and maybe £150 from the old Abbey National for 2 cheque accounts. Infact, I would be here all day telling you about the near to £1000 since 2004 I have had just for moving current accounts. Also all these old accounts seem to look good on my credit report as the account history is fine. Having 20 closed accounts is better than having 1 I think!

It's easy money. Keep doing it. I may have a different opinion if HSBC decline my new account!

I've gone ahead and applied for FD but have realised I may get declined now as I entered the wrong salary info!
