    Well they sold out before i could make the purchase so back to the drawing board!

    So if i was looking to spend £250 on a TV what would you lot recommend. Minimum size would be 32"

    That depends how it was measured. Theres no standard and so the 2 figures could easily look exactly the same
    Assuming both tvs are calibrated and the same standard is used then yes id notice a difference if put side by side. But its only the ratio of white to black. The number of colours remains the same. Your statement of your tv having a hugh ratio is meaningless
    What would be a FAR better measure would be black and white level measurements in a calibrated state. That would sort the men from the boys so far as contrast limits were concerned.
