Central Heating vs 13oo Watt Heater

What is cheaper and better to run during the cold winters day time
Central Heating on low during the day or putting on a 1300Watt Heater in 1 room.
Bearing in mind we have 3 bedrooms upstairs and the bathroom, or just me downstairs in the lounge.
Also as my house gets a bit of condensation, is it better for the house to be warm during the day or let it go cold until the kids get back at 4.30?
I think I know the answer, but thought I'd ask just in case :beer::beer:

If your boiler is on, it's costing you money, end of story. Just adjust your programmer to switch the CH back on earlier so it has more time to bring the temp up from the lower ambient temp.
A room heater might be cheaper, but it will only heat the one room. And electric heating is 2 to 3 times more expensive than gas.
Condensation has nothing to do with heating, it's the result of poor ventilation. Higher temps will just mask the problem, as warm air holds more water vapour. No free lunch, and no free laptop
