Lots of bread and only me to feed....

I have been given six fresh loaves of wholemeal bread - long story so I won't go into it.
My question is: since I live alone and this bread will last me for at least a month, what's the best way to store it? I do not have a freezer because I have no space in my flat and I eat mostly fresh foods anyway, so will this bread keep in the fridge? Or should I just feed the birds with it?
Any ideas welcome.

Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

I'd make a bread and butter pudding, have toasties for snacks and maybe whizz some up in the food processor for breadcrumbs - you can use this as coating for scotch eggs, nuggets etc.Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0

you can make a savoury bread and butter pudding as well - miss out sugar and use cheese instead of dried fruit.
If you can't freeze your bread, then how about drying it?
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees F, 93 degrees C, gas mark a quarter or very slow . Slice bread into 1/2-inch rounds. Bake for 1 hour. Let cool. Store in tightly covered tins or wide-mouth jars. NOTE: If you prefer melba thins, preheat the oven to 300 degrees F, 148 degrees C, gas mark 2. Slice the bread a scant 1/4 inch thick and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden. That is also an option, thanks. Especially as I never do much elaborate cooking seeing that I live alone.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

Make toast, spread with tomato puree, add cheese and whatever bits you want, eg mushrooms, peppers, etc. Put under grill and you have 'fast food' pizza mmm!"Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience." Anon.0
