BT not playing fair!

no need to disconnect your router! If your downloading stuff, then your using GB. If you got that crappy homehub, i cant imagine someone sitting outside your place trying to hack the box to get your key and use your service..... BT's model is based on ripping people off, and despite what you read of OFCOM rules, most that help consumers are based on Voluntary practises by ISP's, not mandatory (like providing the usage report of how received XXXX amount of data per month).....
Call and say you want to be ripped off by spending £17.99 (think that gives you 40gb per month) on broadband, but not starting a new contract.... Will take a few attempts but they can do it (i did it from 40gb down to 10gb and then cancelled shortly after as near end of contract)0 -
Hi Stuie
Thanks, I have tried to change packages, but will try again. They did send me a letter saying it would be £1 per GB but I wasn't worried because I knew I could upgrade... silly me to think BT would ever do what they said!As far as i were aware, if you go over your monthly GB allowance, your speed is capped at say 128k (also called Throttling) which makes watching donkey p0rn unwatchable
How will I ever survive
OK will get back on the phone, it's so irritating though, after the 25 minutes and three departments last time just the thought of it is awful! Have emailed the board BT rep as well, but no response as yet. Imagine my surprise.LittleMissInDebt0 -
I had to get them to listen to there recordings to make them drop my partners package down to the minimum as i know there sales people push for the max product which not everyone needs and they word things to make people think there getting somthing better..... I said my GF was mis-sold a high package when she requested a small usage package... After 3 weeks of letters to the complaints team and phonecalls, it was changed

Just keep trying, although try and speak to the complaints team on the phone to get them to change you to the £17.99 overpriced package, and state you need to watch Donkey stuff!
hehe

Hi again Stuie
Glad I did call again now, dicided to go straight through to cancellations. Asked how much it was to cancel (£199 ) and then explained why and surprise surprise I have now had my package upgraded! Obviously I'm not going to get the two months £1 per GB back, but am just relieved it's sorted out now! Really shows though it depends on who you speak to!
Can't wait to be BT Free one day... just need to stay somewhere for more than a year
Thanks again
LMID
PS Completely forgot to mention the Donkey stuff, do you think it would have got me a better deal... I could call them back
