How low does the temperature go during the night after your heating is turned off for the night?
I have a min max thermometer with a remote sensor downstairs and the thermometer upstairs.
Last night the min temps were 13 deg C downstairs and 17.8 deg C upstairs with an outside temp of - 9 deg C
This from a starting temp of 24 deg C at 23:30 when the heating goes off.
So how cold does your house get when the heating is off during the night?

I have no idea but 24 degrees!! good god your house must be like a sauna!! When I come downstairs in the night the cat is under the throw on the sofa, so it must be a bit nippy for him in his fur coat
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.0 -
the lowest reading i've had is 8C.
that was my bedroom.
my bedroom is on the 2nd level of my maisonette...but my bedroom is actually the 4th level because i have a 2 level house below me.0 -
18.4 downstairs and stove off at 9pm.0

It varies - in own lounge (open plan) its about 12c. In the bedroom above the garage I've seen it go as low as 12.3c. 'Normal' non-freeze your !!! off weather, its more like 15-16c.
I think 12.3c is too low for our 2 year old son so in this cold snap I'm having to keep heating on all night (but turn off other rads)0 -
My bedroom drops below 7C but sometimes 6C, living room about 8C and kitchen down to around 6/7C. Detached bungalow out in the sticks and fully insulated as best it can be (apart from lining under suspended wooden floorboards which has lots and lots of airbricks)0

At midnight.. 22C in the living room and 18C upstairs bathroom. This morning it was 18C in the living room and 17C in the bathroom before I switched the heating on.
1960's end terrace with cavity wall insulation, good loft conversion, A rated windows/doors and underfloor insulation.
I'm in Plymouth, and we're not really suffering from the cold like you see in the media. Daytime 2C and -1C overnight but a bit breezy. No snow at all.0 -

What is wrong with that?
I am not going to sit all wrapped up wearing a coat, woolly hat and gloves in a freezing house just for the sake of saving a few £'s. The government has just gave me £250 so that I can stay warm so that is what I am spending it on.
My bill last year for gas for heating in the winter quarter was £248 and I am using the same amount of gas this time.
If you are sitting down and not moving about 24 deg C is just about right.
It only gets to 24 deg C upstairs, downstairs is more like 21 -22 deg C, but downstairs has a hole in the wall so heat escapes through that.0 -
Downstairs is 57F, I do not know [or care] what this is in "new money"Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Wish my Gran had the same attitude. It`s too cold to visit her in the winter!0 -

I agree with you - you have the heat to the temperature you find comfortable.
its 21 in my parents sitting room atm and they are just beginning to feel warm - whereas I feel like Im in a sauna. But then they are sat home all day with very little movement so need the temp up higher0
