EDF/Sainsbury's online s@ver coming to end - options??
Hi all (first ever thread so bear with me!!),
My dual fuel, Sainsbury's Energy Online S@ver Version 4 tariff ends on 31 December 2010.
It appears switching to the EDF or Sainsbury's Online S@ver Version 7 tariff is the next best option (similar deal to my existing Version 4 but runs till December 2011). I'm also not eligible for the current EDF £100 cashback promotion as an existing customer.
I'm inclined to set up my new tariff arrangements for 2011 now in case any of the current available tariffs are withdrawn during December.
3 questions for anyone that can help!:-
1. If I switch via a referral site or cashback site, will I be eligible for cashback despite only moving between tariffs with my existing provider??
2. There is a cancellation fee which applies to my current tariff if I break it early. If I switch to a new tariff with my existing supplier before 31 December with a referral site, will the switch take effect immediately, in which case would I suffer a cancellation fee?
3. Does anyone have any other clever ideas/tips that could apply to me switching tariffs as above?
Thanks!

Somebody on MSE recently mentioned that moving house "generally" releases you from the exit penalty.
I thought this is dodgy, as you can collude with a relative or neighbour, so that you "move" to his house, and vice versa.
Both exit penalties are waived, and you both receive the £100 Welcome bonus. Potentially, you can even get a Quidco cashback.
It all falls apart if the other guy doesn't pay his bill, which is in your name, of course. Slightly safer is you pay the bill in your name, and he pays his, and hand over the difference once in while. If the two usages are similar, just settle once a year.
I must say, it's the most obvious scheme with all these cashback offers around, so they must have some way of preventing it. Never tried it.0
