This might be a stupid question.. but I've been looking at DVD recorders, I've seen one that records up to 8 hours (no internal HD) but only found DVD's that are 120mins??!!

it depends on the quality of the recording that defines how much you can fit on it. At standard quality you are looking at around 2 hours and as quality reduces you can fit more on it.Ever stop to think and forget to start again?0

It can be done by recording at a lower quality but if you take it to the maximum recording time the difference in picture quality can be quite noticeable. OK if you just watch something once & then copy over it but not really good enough for something you want to keep.0

Actually, the time differential is explained by the quality of the recording that you select. If you choose Long Play you may get up to eight hours, with High Quality, one hour.0
