I agree with that, but why exactly are Comet deemed scumbags because a manufacturer hasn't made something to be of satisfactory quality?0 -

I think that's why!:DDon't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!0 -
So someone is either incorrect or flat out lying and suddenly everyone who works for Comet is a scumbag?
And before anyone says that the poster didn't say everyone at Comet is a scumbag, they also didn't say that it was only this salesperson who is0 -
What brand are these failing fridge freezers so us lot can avoid buying the crap ones?0

A fair few years ago, I bought a Comet own brand tumble drier that conked out literally days after the 12 month warranty expired. Turned out the belt had snapped and the engineer told me it was a design fault. Interestingly, they also no longer sold that model. I tried and tried to get them to repair it/refund or replace. In the end they wanted a independant inspection carried out on it - at my expense. I simply couldn't afford it and gave up. If it were now, though, I would carry on fighting.
I have a deep dislike and mistrust of Comet since then. I would fight them all the way re this fridge freezer. It is clearly not for the purpose it was intended.0 -

I bought a Biko freezer. I think it was from Comet, but it lasted just over a year.
I didn't know my rights and did not complain. Learned the hard way.
Anyway I've since heard from other tradesmen that Biko are Bildge0 -
Biko not Beko??0

Steve Biko? ......Sargent Bilko.
I'll know one when I see it again!0 -
Under the sale of goods act all electrical goods are sold in England with a Legal waranty of six years !
The retailers hate this and will try and fob you off !
Just write a well worded letter pointing out your rights.
They will repair or replace Items or else you can in the end just take a case in the small claims court for a small sum .Were all Dooooooooomed !0
