I am due to start work next week working 16 hours a week at £5.93 per hour.
I live with my 10 year old son and rent from the council at £86 per week (includes water rates) i will be coming off JSA and not sure what benefits i would be entitled too and roughly how much i would receive. I know i will be entitled to the £40 per week back to work incentive which doesnt effect my benefits . still unsure what im entitled too??? any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. many thanks x

Are you a lone parent? If you have a lone parent advisor at the job centre get him/her to fast track your claim for working tax credits through. Mine did it on the Monday and my first payment was in by the Thursday so it can happen smoothly and quickly! (If you are a LP and don't have an advisor ask to speak to one).
If you are not a LP then if you ask at the job centre there might be someone who can help you?
And also the turn to us website will tell you what to expect.
It's only a game
