I need to take out my radio/CD player to find its serial number. Rather than screw holes, it has two grooves either side that clearly some tool is supposed to fit into. Do I really need this tool to successfully remove the radio (in one piece) or can I poke a screw driver or somesuch in? Any advice would be welcome, as I can feel myself reaching for pokey implements as I type!!

Depending on your model year you might not be able to remove it with coat hangers .

These are the stereos fitted post 05 and you need european release keys . I bought these cut my finger on them and then used 2 screw drivers in the release holes0
