Thermahelm Motorbike Helmet

If anyone has been to the NEC Motorcycle Live Show in Birmingham this week you'll have seen the new motorcycle helmet, ThermaHelm.
Apparently a key factor in motorbike head injuries is brain swelling - what this helmet does is cool a rider's head immediately on impact to reduce swelling. Some of them even come with GPS Sytems built in so if you are in an accident on the road alone it can trigger a beacon to home in on your location.
I was amazed really by such a good idea. More information is on www.thermahelm.com - but let me know what you think. Will people pay for it though?

My gut reaction is im not going to buy a helmet from I dont trust to make the base helmet design, too much is placed on that cooling tech and theres very little on the helmet itself which worries me.
and certainly not £600, not when I can get a decent Arai or Shoei for that price.0 -

I think they are introducing a system where you can have the cooling patch fitted to an existing helmet - so you can have the protection in your own helmet. Not sure what that will cost, but a lot less I would imagine. Surely all helmets will come with this built in at some point? Like air bags in cars.0
