How does economy 10 work
I have economy 10 heating with wet radiators, i am finding it very expensive to run, especially in winter, am using about 130 -140 a month, just to run it at 18 degrees, which isnt keeping the house that warm with the snow outside.
Does anyone know, how to run these efficiently, i,e what temperature, i know about the off peak times etc, but the system clicks on and off, to maintain the temperature its set to go off at if that makes sense.
I can set the thermostat only twice a day, which is set for a morning so its warm for when i get up, and for when i get in from work at 330pm. My off peak hours are 1330-1630, 2030-2230 and not sure about the other one, but it goes off at 0730 in the morning.
Just wondered if anyone has any tips on how i can maximise usage without it costing a fortine.
Does turning off the water heater button, that heats water over peak time (apparently) have any effect on the cost either?

There's different types of E10.
Hopefully the one you have is a 3 rate supply where all your heating should be at the control rate (which is the same cheap rate no matter when you use it).
To save money, reduce the temperature and / or the number of hours the heating is on.
Another option would be to reduce the number of rooms you heat (and keep the doors closed to prevent heat from the heated rooms transgferring to the unheated rooms)"Now to trolling as a concept. ....
