British Gas prices

Hi, I inputted my estimated usage into both uswitch and energylinx, and they both stated that the rates you charge are:
Primary Unit Rate 23.638 pence per kWh
Secondary Unit Rate 10.079 pence per kWh
whereas on my bill it says they are less: 22.661p and 9.799p respectively. I assume this discrepancy is because the comparison site are using the figures that will come into effect on 10th Dec..??
On the comparison site it also says if I switch to EDF, I can save £365???
Also, if I change to the British Gas WebSaver 10 I can save £210???
I'd rather not change company but I'd obviously prefer to be on the best rate possible.
Also, I won't have to pay any exit penalties with my current tariff.
Can anyone tell me if it's really worth playing this game of chasing the supplier who are quoting the lowest prices only for the goalposts to be moved 6 months later!!!!!! I guess that's the real question here!Treat everyday as your last one on earth! and one day you will be right.0 -
If you can save £365pa for 15 minutes work, (plus £80 if you switch to EDF dual fuel via Quidco), then wouldn't you say that's worthwhile?
It makes no difference what happens in 6m-any supplier can change prices at any time if you are on a variable tariff, including your current one.No free lunch, and no free laptop0
