I have 4 bedroom detached and pay less per month than you.

You can do the things people have already mentioned but if you also change supplier, you'll be quids in.

Hi we are with E.On and our initial unit price is 22.38 p per unit capped at 224KWh
and secondary unit price at 9.92p each KWh
our average bill is about £230 per quarter and seems to be going up each quarter.
Rang E.On and they said that there was no other tariff for us. We are an average 3 bedroom house with two kids. Heating and cooking is by mains gas.
Can anyone give a little advise?

    Hi Big dog

Sorry for the late reply; just noticed your post.

From the prices you've quoted, I suspect you are on our standard tariff for the South Western region (area 22).

If I'm correct and provided you have a standard meter, there are certainly cheaper tariffs available for paying with a Monthly Direct Debit and managing your account online.

I would do as others have already suggested and pop your usage on to one of the comparison sites. This will list out all the options open to you, both with us and the other suppliers.

Give me a shout if you're struggling to work out your usage. I'll be happy to find this out for you. Drop an email to the address in my Profile if you prefer.

Again, as others have already pointed out, there may be savings to be made by reducing your usage. We may be able to help with this, too.

Have a chat with our Energy Efficiency team. They specialise in helping customers cut back on their usage and will be happy to talk to you.

Ask for a copy of a booklet called '100 ways to Save Money by Saving Energy.' It's free and contains lots of useful tips.

Also, check out our website; more good info here.

Hope this helps Big dog. As I say, give me a shout if I can help further.

What tariff are you on, how do you pay and how do you manage your account. Lots of tariffs have a similar price per unit but offer differing degrees of discount for payment method, online billing etc.

As an example I pay 22.1865p for 1st 900 units and 10.71p after that but then get 6% discount per fuel for paying by monthly DD, another 2% for dual fuel and another 18% for online account management.
