Lovely Neighbours

Options
Im posting this here as its kind of a praise, but also I need your opinions.

Firstly my neighbours one side are lovely a married middle age couple have been so nice to us since we moved in and have helped us out with things, secondly Ive met the elderly(ish) lady next door quite a few times over the last few months as she keeps taking in all my packages for me when Im not in (all my MSE bargains :T).
Wanted to get something little for both neighbours for xmas, any ideas?

Food and booze are classics but can be a bit awkward unless you know their tastes. Flowers always go down well as do plants, particularly winter flowering ones, like Christmas cactus. Or how about offering to do a few garden jobs or something, particularly for the older lady if she's on her own?

Why not organise a little Xmas party, and invite them both round.

    A bottle of something nice.
  • I would go with a nice plant.
Maybe a nice garden ornament if they have a garden?
You're lucky you have nice neighbours. Mine are total asses.

Oh you sound so nice! Please come and move next to me in place of the rude policewoman with her constantly barking police dog :(

Mind you I have constantly crying babies so it all evens out :)

I want to do something like this as well, not for my neighbours, but for my local sorting office! Embarrassingly they know me by name, not only me but my sister as well, who sometimes picks up my parcels for me when I'm at work. I don't even need to take my calling cards any more! I get a row for spending money online every time I'm down there :o I'm worry that they think I'm up to illegal activity sometimes!

Thinking of getting them a tin of Roses, nice and simple, but it's hard to know what to get people when you're not sure of their tastes. Short of just going in and asking them what their favorite confectionery/drink is, I'm not sure what to do!
