Pre-payment meter question

We have been on pre payment for gas and electricity for 18 months due ot a debt with Scottish Power (we are still in dispute but that is another story).
However we have no cleared the gas and have almost cleared the electricity.
We decided to change suppliers as soon as we got under £200 on the electricity due to a variety of disagreements with SP and we are now with BG who, although not perfect, are a lot better.
We started the changeoever process when the meter told us we owed £188, we pay £7 pw.By the time we got the account changed the debt ON PAPER was £91 and on the meter was £130. SP wrote to us, after 12 tearful phone calls, one leading me ot put the phone down on the person who thne rang back and was rude to my OH. We got a letter then telling us that the debt of £91 had been transferred to BG on SEpt 23rd.
This was a full £40 less than the meter said.
I rang BG who siad that is could take a few weeks for it all to be sorted and the meter would be reset.
I top up every week at the same outlet.
It has still not been reset. We are still paying a Standing Charge of £8.20 a week, BG don't charge a standing charge nad out debt is still £40 higher than ew actually owe.
I tried ringing BG last night but was put off by it being 25 mins to answer the call.
What can be done, by my calculations we should have paid the debt by Christmas, but it won't be until mid feb if the meter is not reset nad I don;t want ot be paying the standing charge.
I really like ebing on pre pay as it has worked out so well for us and once the ombudsman gets our £1400 that SP fraudulently took from us we will be laughing.
Any help gratefully received

BG do cgharge a standing charge if you elec meter is not an Actaris KDB meter, if it is not the afore mentioned meter, call BG and ask them to change it, which they will do for free and then you will have no elec standing charge0

It is an actaris so I think that we are okay there.
