Solicitors....

Is it possible to transfer your conveyancing mid way thrugh to a different solictor? Mine are an absolute nightmare - they dont reply to emails, when I phone they totally ignore any requests.

I have asked 3 times for complaints proceedure and its like talking to a brick wall. Its making life very stressful!

You employ them so of course you can sack them!

    However, expect
    a) to get a bill from them for work done to date and
    b) delays while ne solicitors take over and get up to speed.

Trying to avoid their bill by claiming negligence or incompetence will be a long hard battle.

we get a lot of clients coming to us unhappy with other lawyers, and that is fine.

If a purchase - we write to the Sellers lawyer to say twill they honour all papers supplied to date, and then we same day review and up and running. No lost time. Just make sure your lender knows and sends the mortgage offer to the right law firm.

But choose wisely, make sure you get a 'solicitor' firm, as you don;t get those issues with them like you just have had.

if a sale - easy, we adopt whatever papers the other alwyer has sent and up and running.

    Good luck
My posts are just my opinions and are not offered as legal advice - though I consider them darn fine opinions none the less.:cool2:

My bad spelling...well I rush type these opinions on my own time, so sorry, but they are free.:o
