EDF via Quidco - numerous problems

Hi

Not sure if anyone can offer any advice but here goes. Applied to switch to EDF via quidco offer which expires today. It was for duel fuel and the t & c were that it all had to be done by 30th november in order to receive £80 cashback and also £100 bonus from EDF. Well Started process on 20th Oct, called on 11th Nov to be advised that registration had failed and the contract had been canx, then spoke to another advisor who advised that they would reinstate the process. Then hadnt heard anything so called back on 17th Nov to be told again was canx however if I supplied meter point ref's then they would reinstate, this should all be ok this time and wouldnt lose cashback. Tried calling few times since to no avail and finally got through to someone this morning to tell me it had in fact been canx but there was nothing I could do and would lose the deal via Quidco. They told me that they werent aware of any offers and I had to take it up with Quidco and not them. They told me that they shouldnt be advertising still as in order to qualify for direct debit payment to be taken by 30th nov then the whole process should have been started 8-12 weeks before! This has been exhausting going back and forth between everyone. Spoke to a manager again today and she said she'll reinstate the switching process but wont get the cashback. Can I complain to edf or is it really just a waste of time? thanks

Not sure who you should complain to but you need to find out why it keeps failing, then you can apportion blame.

But the advisor was wrong the welcome bonus is based on when you sign up not when the first DD is taken.

    Its in the T&C's

The Cashback from Quidco (£80) is totally separate from the £100 welcome credit on your bill.

There is no mis-advertising going on. The offer is valid until midnight tonight. The Quidco cashback is derived from an affiliate network such as Tradedoubler or Affiliate window who pay websites to recruit customers to a supplier. Quidco pass this over to us in return for a £5 a year fee.

People who work for EDF customer services might not even know that Quidco exists.

The £100 welcome credit is applied by EDF on your bill and has its own set qualifications - paying by Direct Debit is one and I imagine supplying the meter reference points is another. The APPLICATION has to completed by the end of 30th November and the supply has to "come live" within the next 4-8 weeks.

It might be the meter reference points that have caused trouble. These are usually on an old bill. Did you supply these to EDF?

For the Quidco £80 to be VALIDATED, the process needs to be completed from the ORIGINAL application. It can't be done by the original application being cancelled and then redone by an EDF manager. This "redone" application would qualify for the £100 welcome bonus if completed by midnight tonight but the Quidco cashback of £80 will have been "lost" because the original quidco application has in effect been cancelled.
