New to Sky - what happens with a phone line when you move in?

I have just booked Sky to install Sky TV (plus phone and broadband) in 2 weeks time. I am moving into the property next week so it will be a new contract etc. Sky has e-mailed to say I must ensure there is an available phone line at the property. I know the current owners have a TalkTalk line but I am assuming it will be disconnected. Does this matter or does Sky literally just need a phone line as opposed to a connected one as they connect it themselves (the phone number is going to be changed I think)? Very confused….LOL. Any help appreciated.

Obviously a standard response (if you've ordered Sky telephone etc., it must be them who "must ensure there is an available phone line at the property", not you).
I'd suggest a reply along those lines (but more polite, of course).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
