Bloomin Direct & BiteSize Deals locked - what's happening???

Threads pertaining to these two companies were deleted and/or locked some 18 months ago. The companies involved claimed that comments made on MSE were libellous.

MSE removed the threads and exoplained how it was not kowtowing to these companies. It said an investigation would take place.

There's been nothing said in the intervening 18/20 months.

Is there an update??

Some might say that the threats have been effective for 20 months and show no signs of becoming ineffective.

Avforums did the same thing with bsd about 14 months ago and no further response from them either. Funny how most sites ratings/comments put them at one out of ten except for a few in slightly poor english which always rate them 10.

Glad to see someone else has noticed this.

I read those thread headers a few days ago and my thoughts were much the same.

It seems that companies that are sometimes a little incompetent will suffer the slings and arrows but the real rogues adopt bully boy tactics AND IT WORKS :mad:

I think the fact that they are still stickied at the top shows it hasn't been resolved but certainly not forgotton about, after all how many millions of people look at it each day stickied at the top including MSE staff? That alone suggests to me its not forgotton. Otherwise they'd disappear and any new threads would get deleted.

Au contraire, they have been forgotten by MSE....as in they have no intention of doing anything other than leaving it 'suspended, oending investigation'.

There will be no investigation as MSE doesn't fancy a legal fight.

I don't object to MSE kowtowing to a bully.....but I do object to them not coming out and saying this is the case.

All they have to say is 'we're worried so we're giving in' or 'it's not a fight worth taking on'; everyone would respect that more than the spin of 'we've just suspended it pending a thorough investigation'.

I believe initially the intention was indeed to investigate, but then the effort required got a bit too much, so better to let it peter away.
