Near total rubbish.
The 7" Mobii looks very decent if that is your budget.0 -
Anything with a 'touch resistive' screen I'd steer clear of. Save a few more pennies and plump for the Advent offering or if you can muster enough, the iPad.Bankrupt 28/07/08!0

Quite, but watch this demo here, looks not too bad? Thoughts?

Price gets too close to ARM A8 tablets and with no extra redeeming factors like HDMI or 1080p decoding.
A £200 Ziio would be brilliant in comparison.
There are some very good netbooks are at £180 and these things are certainly going to be fraught with disappointment unless you are technically inclined and well researched.0 -

I agree. A touch resistive screen in comparision to a touch screen...well, there is no comparison. They're just too clumsy to use, navigate etc and don't give a fluid experience.
Take the £200 and go elsewhere, the one on the Avon site's not worth the money.Bankrupt 28/07/08!0 -

Morning! Been looking at these for my eldest 3 children (13, 10 & 8). We don't really want to spend much more than £100 each on this item, so before people tell me the ipad is the only table to have, I am more than aware of the greatness of the ipad!! My hubby tells me at every given opportunity! However I cannot and will not spend that kind of money on children, so as an alternative, I have been trying to get my hands on a cheaper tablet pc. I am currently looking at the toys r us ones, priced £89, but always oos. Then Netto have a deal on tomorrow, but my closest store is couple hours away and no guarantee they wouldn't be oos time i get there. The main problem people are mentioning with these are the resistive screen as opposed to the touch screen (I think thats right), i'm sure you know what I mean. However, posting above (sorry forgot name) refers to https://www.freebiegifts.co.uk. Looking at this (with limited description), it does state touch screen.....also using version 2.1 android, rather than 1.6 which a ot of the cheaper ones tend to run on. I also have picked up that there will never be a software update for V1.6, so where possible V2.1 is always going to be a better deal.
Could anyone point me in the right direction, as the area appears to be a mindfield, and £100 is still a lot to spend if it's going to be pants. My 13 year old is very techy and has an iphone already. He really would love an ipad, but they are out of the question, so I need to know if these are a good alternative, as much as they can be.
This freebiegifts one seem slike a good deal to me, from what i've read. Anybody got one, or ordered from this site! what a bargain free tablet Pc, then just £99+vat p&p!! don't know what the point of that is.
.....Hey I wonder if I order 3 if i'll only get charged one p&p, surely £99 would cover the weight of 3?? ha! :rotfl:I wish
thank you for any help0 -

I disagree i bought 2 of the avon site for my teen girls ,having played with them they are more than adequate for what you need to do , they are not laptops or not quite ipad but for the money they are brilliant , touch screen works fine, speed is brilliant and battery life adequate , you can watch youtube on them same as you can with ipad and i know some tablet pcs dont have youtube on them .
Suppose its marmite .... either love or hate ...Money mad saving mom of 4 gorgeous girls, one with special needs, shes special and i needed her ..x0 -

It's a bit misleading to say an item is free and then charge extortionate postage to compensate. It gets them nicely out of any warranty liabilities.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.
