Card Keys for Cars - Protection?

Having just taken delivery of a Megane with a key card rather than the traditional key, it has already been dropped a few times and I have come to realise how fragile these key cards can be.

Does anyone know of a company that supplies a "holder" for these car keys that would provide some form of protection if dropped, even if it is something like the "skin" for a Nintendo Wii controller.

Thanks.

A collegue has a car that uses something like this and he never takes it out of his pocket. As he approaches the car it unlocks as he walks away it locks. No risk of dropping it.

Would a skin or case for a mobile phone or an MP3 player fit it?

Looks just the job - many thanks. After reading a few threads on this and other forums about the high cost of replacing the key-card, better to be safe than sorry as it's already been dropped a few times!!

I'm after one of them too for my Laguna.

My RenaultSport Clio 197 i've just got rid off had the same credit card type key but it never had to leave my pocket as it was totally keyless.

My Laguna however has a card slot so i'll be getting one of these too

Also another option would be a themed holder: Play.com have some nice ones like this: http://www.play.com/Gadgets/Gadgets/-/3389/2656/-/16255750/Marvel-Agent-Of-SHIELD-Travel-Pass-Holder/Product.html?ob=4

The one thing you and every other Renault owner needs to learn quickly is the never have the keycard on the house key ring. You can guess what happens when the house door swings shut:eek:

Renault have the keyfree system as an option on some cars ie the standard keycard but it doesn't need removing from your wallet/pocket/bag. Only problem is is you pop back in after starting to warm the car up and change your coat or leave the bag behind you find yourself at the filling station or supermarket and the key at home.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed
