Hi
Thanks for the reply i went onto my paypal which i had to confirm all my details, change my security questions and password. After all that they had put a hold on my account. The phone was payed for but there was another transaction the one i mentioned above (G network china) for £145.00 then converted into usd. The payment hadn't been accepted as of then so i was straight onto the phone to paypal who said they knew my account had been hacked because i only ever use my account from 1 computer so the put a hold on my account. So the payment has been cancelled but they said the money could still leave my account (it wont because there isnt enough money in there to pay it) but it would be back in there within 48 hours. So now i just have to wait and see what happens.
The thing is that if i used my account from lots of pcs then they may not have noticed and i would have had a lot more problems as i couldn't afford to loose £145. I hardly ever use my paypal account and think i may actually close it after all this.
Thankfully the phone i brought for my daughter is all legal. Just got to wait and see what happens now and hope its all all right now
Sorry for essay but was really panicking0 -
You should still be panicking. Your paypal account has been hacked. How? If someone has managed to get your log in details once, you have a problem.0

Did you go onto the Paypal site, log in and do this, or did you receive an email telling you to??Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

It is a bit of a myth that someone will hack your account by sending you a virus/trojan etc, I'm sure it happens but it's much easier to send an email with a fake link taking you to a website that looks like the real one, so that you give them your log in details yourself.
Norton will not stop you from clicking a link and entering you log in details0 -
there is a bit of mis-information regarding the infallibility of antivirus software here.
A Crypter is a professional tool hackers use to make a malicious software FUD (Fully Un-Detectable - to antivirus) disguising the apperance of the file.
Antivirus companies normally catch-up after a short time and they release a patch in the form of a virus database update so your antivirus can detect the "disguise". After this a new crypter is needed and so on...
The antivirus needs to able to detect the "disguise", not the virus. The virus is probably classic stuff tested and known to be working, the crucial part is to make your system "accept" the trojan. To do this we "dress" it nicely and once it is in at this point your antivirus is useless as most of "functions" of modern trojans are undetected by antivirus (you can scan, re-scan... and re-scan... you will only find the empty shell of the trojan but deleting it won't stop the "service" it has started on your computer).
A good crypter is expected to be FUD for at least a few days after its release but you never know, it can last one minute or one month. Within this period (especially if you didn't update) you are unprotected even if you downloaded the last antivirus update.
On the positive side Crypters are not freely available from the internet, they are made by people who wants to be paid for the job and this luckily stops the hordes of 14 years old wannabe hackers downloading crypters and spreading infections.
The stealing of ebay/paypal logins doesn't need a trojan or a virus, these are for internet banking or other stuff.
Stealing paypal or ebay login details can be a clean job and much easier than what you'd expect (a breeze, believe me), luckily it is also easy to prevent taking a few precautions.
For obvious reasons I am not going into details here, if someone is interested I can post a simple how-to to protect yourself at 99% if it hasn't already been posted by someone else (by the comments I read every week here it is either well hidden or written in another language).
