Hello,
I am on an online tariff already with Scottish Power and the contract ends today. Is it still an advantage to switch?
thank you!

Which tariff are you on? If it's Energy Saver 7 then you should have been offered another year's extension (which is auto-renewed if you don't decline it).
Of course it's worth switching otherwise, if you don't you will revert to standard tariff-the most expensive.
Use a comp site and see what your best options are.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi missamanda - YES you must Switch
I guess you are on 'Energy Saver 7' which ends today and you have had a letter advising you of this, which offers to to let you continue on Energy 7.
What the letter does not tell you is that the prices on this 'Continued' 7 tariff are appx. 24% higher than those charged on your 'Original' 7 tariff.
If you don't know your Annual consumption in Kwh, phone Scot. Power and ask them to tell you, then hit the Switch sites.0 -
You may automaticaly go onto the S P standard tariff.... if so SWITCH, SWITCH, SWITCHToday, my BEST is good enough.0

The Online Energy 11 from SP is considerably cheaper than the new rates for Online Energy 7, about £100 pounds less on my annual costs of £700.
You should be able to ring them and ask to be switched to this immediatley.
But check for other deals first, might have to wait till tomorrow for the new Online Energy 7 tariffs to appear on the comparison sites - they weren't there a few days ago.
