reclaiming ccc from barclaycard.......gggrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I am trying (big emphasis on trying!) to claim back my charges from barclaycard but havent got anywhere yet. I sent off my second letter a month ago now (I've only just realised it was so long ago!) and after giving them 14 days to reply they havent done so! The thing is, they seem to have passed my account onto Mercers about a week after I sent the letter and now all I get is hassle off them and I've heard nothing off barclaycard. So what do I do now?? how do I handle mercers? I've written a letter of complaint regarding the amount of phone calls I received off barclaycard and requested they stop, would this letter still stand with mercers or do I need to send off another letter to them? also, do I now need to send off a letter to mercers to reclaim the charges or should barclaycard have still written back by now? what should my next port of call be???

The credit card company have 8 weeks to respond to a complaint before the FOS will investigate.

I guess Mercers are some kind of Debt Collecting Agency?
The question is, do you still owe money other than the amount in dispute i.e the amount you have claimed? If so, you'll have to pay that else they will continue to ask for it.

As for the amount in dispute, simply tell Mercers that you dispute the amount being claimed and that they should refer the amount back to the original creditor who are aware of this dispute.

Yes, you need to inform Mercers of this as they are not mind readers; they do not read the mail you send to Barclaycard.

You do not need to claim against Mercers; your claim is against the original creditor i.e. Barclaycard.
