Arrgghh My Shower Won't Stop Dripping!!

Hello All!

I have got a Heatrae Sadia Carousel electric shower. It is quite old but has been working ok. However, yesterday it started dripping from the shower head when switched off and it just won't stop! Is there anything I can do to stop it? I unscrewed the hose from the shower unit and water just dripped out of the hole that the hose screws into. I can't afford a new shower or for anybody to come out to fix it and I am on a water meter so I am collecting the drips in a watering can! Any help or advice from shower experts out there would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm just a woman who knows nothing lol, but I know when ours started dripping DH replaced a washer which cured the problem.

:o Probably needs a part if you can source it - pressure relief valve? - Getting someone in to fix it is probably gonna cost more than a new shower.
    Sorry :(

Hehe! Thanks everybody! Do you know, even if I don't get a solution to my question on here, I still feel loads better when I read the replies! I always think I am missing something obvious! I reckon that I probably need a new shower really but I'm too much of a skinflint. On the bright side, at least I'm not wasting the water and I'll have a full watering can soon!

Thanks for your replies! If I come up with a miraculous cure or find a washer that needs replacing, I'll post the solution on here, just in case anybody else out there has got an ancient shower that starts dripping!! :rotfl:

All I've got to do now is try and work out why my headlights aren't working (hopefully just the bulbs) and desludge my half warm half cold radiator....... Why does everything happen at once, especially when it's really cold?
