Using Maestro card online

I've always stuck to using credit cards for online purchases due to the fraud protection they offer. I'm about to dip my toes into matched betting and plan on using my Maestro card. Does Maestro offer similar protection to credit cards?

IMO the main advantage of CCs is not the fraud protection, but joint liability of the CC company with the retailer.
Although Maestro itself doesn't provide any protection (AFAIK), usually you are protected by the card issuer (bank/BS) from fraudent use of your card and your are not liable for unauthorised transactions unless it can be proved that you acted negligently or fraudently. Read your T&C.0
