Transferring iTunes songs to Technika MP3 player problem

Options
Since the new upgrade of iTunes which features The Beatles back catalogue, I have got problems transferring songs I have downloaded on to my MP3 player.

I have a Technika MP607 player and would like to know how I can transfer iTunes songs to it, otherwise I have 650 songs I can't listen to on my MP3 player

  • Are the songs in mp3 format?

Can you find them on the hard drive (ie outside of itunes) and copy and paste them on to the mp3 player?
    .....

  • Dave I have gone into Computer > Music then iTunes Media then into Music, but when I try to transfer a song it doesnt show on the MP3 player.

It annoys me that I used to have 30 songs on my player but decided to put some new ones on, but since the iTunes change last week I can't put any on

the alternative is, I believe, burn the required stuff from itunes (spit) onto a cd, then rip the cd to mp3 :) Like mp3, HATE itunes

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple :D

This is nothing to do with Itunes. Whether you're using an Itunes from 2006 or one from last week, you will be able to copy / paste all your songs from the music folder to your MP3.

You should probably try formatting your mp3 player, as it sounds like you may have a corruption there.

You'll be able to copy/paste them to the MP3 player, but whether the MP3 player supports AAC/M4A/M4P for playback is another issue.

If the MP3 player does support the file format itunes uses then it should be ok, otherwise the best option will be what GunJack suggested.

He gave the impression the only thing that had changed was that he had upgraded Itunes - his problem is obviously nothing to do with a newer version of Itunes. Guess the songs are all M4P bought a couple of years ago, and therefor he has never been able to play them

Are the songs you are trying to transfer Beatles songs? I read, when the Beatles songs were made available, they were in a different format: iTunes LP or something. Is there a compatibility issue perhaps, older players not recognising files in the new format? (I'm guessing here, don't know if this has anything to do with it.)

Have you tried transferring songs, which definitely played on your Technika in the past?

Exactly - are the Beatles songs copy-protected, essentially?

I'm not trying to transfer any Beatles songs at all, the point I was making was that I have songs downloaded on iTunes a week ago upto say a few months ago so fairly recent, but I can't get any new songs from the computer on to the MP3 player.

Last week I had 27 songs on the player and wanted to have a fresh batch of songs on, so deleted all the songs on the player but trying to get songs onto the thing is a problem.

I haven't had a problem in the year I have had the MP3 player so far so no idea what has happened.

Open Itunes / Preferences / General

Change Import Settings to MP3, and select the quality (128kbps will probably be enough).
Go back to your music library, select all songs, right click, then Create MP3 version.

You can then sort your library by 'date created', and delete everything created before today
