How do I list an item, BIN only?

I'm listing an item that I want Buy it now only. Going through the listing its asking for starting price as a requirement, do I put this the same as the BIN price?

It depends what you want for the item. for example you could put a BIN price of £4.99 but start the auction off at 99p i would put the lowest that you are willing to accept for the starting price and what you really want for the BIN price0

Thanks Divadee, but I dont want to auction the item, just list it so it can be bought using BIN.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I would list the auction price the same as the BIN price as nobody would be daft enough to bid over the BIN price.....surely?!!

oh now its clearer.
right at the begnning of the listing you have the option to just do a BIN sale. If you check the box right at the beginning you can list it that way.0 -

Trouble is if you do that you will be paying an additional fee. The straight auction fee plus 6p for adding a BIN. If you just have a BIN you pay the straight fee. I've often wondered if people who do that realise what it is costing them.
The option for choosing which format to use is the very first option you get when you click 'sell'. You are offered a choice of BIN (fixed price auction) or a regular auction. Just go for the BIN .

maybe you don't qualify for BIN.
I think you need a bank account on profile or 10+ feedback to qualify...
I hope this helps

I bought a CD rom from someone using the buy it now option ( and in the item description it mentioned that if someone else had already bought it, more of the same would be available at the same price). The previous identical CD rom was the subject of a small bidding war between two people, EVEN though the lowest possible bid was the same as the Buy It Now price. I asked the seller whether the buyer really had paid the final price, and the seller told me that the buyer was prepared to, but the seller was kind enough to let him have it at the original Buy it Now price!0

I really don't understand why people list with an opening price and a BIN price that is the same, unless they don't realise that they can list as a BIN only.

I think it happens as in my case. I wanted to list another item the same as something I have already sold. I went to that listing and clicked on
"sell a similar item". You then go through the listing if you want to make any changes, but you dont get the opportunity to do BIN only. After reading the above advice I went back to sell the item as if it was a new listing and there was the option for Fixed price auction. Very confusing at the time but now I know.

Changing an existing auction (even if it hasn't yet started) from a regular auction to BIN, or vice versa, is just about the only thing you can't change.0
