  • If you've no card in the box, you shouldn't be able to record.

Have you recently stopped subscribing to Sky and was the film recorded while you still had a subscription?

I thought that films on the sky channels which were 15 or 18 certificate needed a pin to watch or watch the recording. We got the pin when we first started subscribing. What does puzzle me is how you are recording Sky films without a Sky card as these are premium channels.
If you are a subscriber and have lost the pin you can get support or services or whatever they call themselves to reset it.

If you are registered on sky.com you can reset your pin number there if you do not know it .

You probably do have a card, depending on your type of box, it may be hidden behind a little pull down flap at the front of the box. If you havent ever changed your PIN then it'll be the last four digits
    on your card
  • You are normally asked for your PIN to watch a movie, if it is a 15 or 18 and you are trying to watch it before the 'watershed'. Also, as stated above, the default PIN is the last 4 digits of your card no.

No. perhaps i didn t make myself clear enough lol. The film in question was the sweeny todd one that was on the other nite not the premium channels. Ive tried via tv to get an answer and no sucess there and ive tried online but cant seem to get to the part i need.

Yes you are right thank you. I had a closer look and the slot i saw was for an interactive card whatever that means and next to it was indeed a flap to pull down and lo and behold there it was. One more thing though does it make any difference to the box if i take it out for a look :T

Oh it'll still allow you to record them but you'll not be able to play them back even if you put the PIN in.
  • Your pin will be the last 4 digits of the sky card if it hasnt been changed from the default, it wont affect the box in anyway when you remove although if you dont put it back in then you wont be able to view all the channels your are subscribed to.
