Can anyone please advise whether it's ok (or possible) to put the central heating on (combi boiler) when your water supply is cut off due to a burst mains in the street ? Is water held in the radiators regardless of what happens elsewhere ?

Yes. As long as you have water in the system, it will be OK.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

To clarify a little. If there is pressure showing on the gauge, there is water in there.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

But of course you will have no hot water for now, as that is heated by the combi directly off the main supply. No free lunch, and no free laptop
