Credit Rating - Effect (if any) of 'settled' annotations.

Hi,
I recently paid off the remainder of my IVA a few months early. On checking my credit reports, a lot of the accounts are now showing as settled. Does this hold any sway with companies when they are carrying out credit searches, or once they see that the account was defaulted about 5 years ago is that all they care about and don't see the settled comment as an improvement in circumstances.
Also, I notice that a couple of accounts have a default date after the date the IVA took effect. Now I know I can question this, but the one thing holding me back is that my IVA doesn't appear anywhere on my credit report. If I send details of my IVA, are the companies (or credit reference agencies) likely to add the IVA to my report, or is that something that can only be added by the court when it was first set up?
Any help offered would be gratefully received. Thanks.
