Auto-forwarding email from Yahoo to Gmail without Yahoo Mail Plus

I’m trying to find a way of auto forwarding my Yahoo Mail to Gmail without having to buy the annual Yahoo Plus account.

Does anyone know how?

can you not set gmail to 'pick up' the yahoo email using the collect pop account feature of gmail.

you can even set the smtp settings so you can send email from the gmail account through the yahoo account so it only looks like it was the yahoo one that sent it.

Can't you get gmail to pull your yahoo mail in settings accounts/import ? (ps is this for your Galaxy ?)

In Yahoo mail:
Options -> More Options -> POP and Forwarding

Jayme, it seems that Yahoo Mail is the only provider you cannot do that with. I assume it's because Yahoo want you to pay the annual fee.

Debitcardmayhem - please see above, it is for my Galaxy S yes. The thing is I am wanted to migrate to Gmail as I think Yahoo Mail is rubbish but I have very important emails come to my yahoo address so need to keep it for a while. I don't really want to pay two lots of annual fees for Yahoo Mail Plus which is the way Yahoo suggest that I can have emails auto-forward to Gmail. It would pain me too much to pay them £22 per year for a poor email account.

Use the Yahoo mail app for android , it works on my desire no problem there and no need to worry about forwarding. (ps again, did you try what I suggested on your Galaxy thread I use it all the time on my desire/netbook/desktop )

Sorry, I have forwarding, but not Mail Plus. I suspect I may have set it up long ago before Mail Plus even existed, so it's a legacy privilege.
I have seen it suggested that you can do this if switch back to Mail Classic, but I can't verify this as I see the option in both versions of Yahoo Mail.

I downloaded it Debitcardmayhem but not used it at all.

Thats why I posted the screenshot Fenlander.

I also heard that it can be done by going into Yahoo Classic but the website that posted that info was last updated in 2008. As you can see from the shot above I am in classic but am prompted to upgrade to Mail Plus in order to set-up forwarding.

I also heard that there is a small reg hack that can enable but I'm not too sure I want to take that route.

Yep , it works either over Wifi or USB and I have it synced with Thunderbird Calendar and Contacts , it includes a monitor for battery and signal strength firmware etc , file explorer type interface and othere I haven't got to the bottom of yet.
