Boiler loosing pressure over time?

Hi

My Worcester boiler is loosing pressure slowly overtime what could be wrong?

Before you say i have a leak i definately do not as i have checked everywhere and this has been going on for months so i think any leaks would of shown themselves by now.

Any other ideas why i might have to keep topping up the system?

As you are so certain you don't have a leak then all you can do is keep topping it up until you accept you DO have a leak of some description somewhere on the system or boiler. You just haven't found it yet.

I assume we're talking about a combi here then? Have you checked if there is water coming from the pressure relief valve drain pipe? If the pressure relief valve valve is faulty, then it may not be seating properly, and as the boiler pressurises, some water is being released.
These often get bit of water borne grit in them and fail to seal properly, easy enough to have replaced.

Very helpful post fella, but as the next post suggests there are other things i can check first!:T
  • We didn't think we had a leak until we wrapped paper towels around the pipes at floor level. Turned out they were leaking and the water was running away. We were lucky that the ceilings downstairs didn't have water damage, but that was another reason we didn't think the radiators were leaking, thus causing a drop in pressure.

Looks like you have some good tips above! Good luck!

If it is a small leak the water could be evaporating off hot pipework! Buy leak sealer from B&Q for around £20 simple job to inject into one Radiator - Job Done

Perhaps you should have left that part out then.
