ITV1 Not Working - Problem with aerial

Mother in law just called. She has been having problems getting ITV1 for the last few days. Seems to be some problems with her external aerial as when she connects one of those little internals one to the telly it seems to be fine. Anyone know what could have happened to the external aerial and why it would only be ITV1 thats been affected by it? Kind of thinking to just buy her an early christmas present and get her Freesat from Sky as she was on about getting more channels anyway. Any help much appreciated

    Is it freeview or analogue?

Be careful with FreeSat from Sky. It is £150 and you get a load more channels (most of them rubbish) BUT...Sky's base package is only £15 per month with first 3 months half price so it is actually about the same money as FreeSat and you get even more channels including Sky One, Two and 3 additional mixes that you don;t get with FreeSat (e.g. Documentaries/HIstory/Music/Discovery etc....etc.... After the first year you can cancel and it becomes a FreeSat for no extra cost.
