Options
I am Changing antivirus from AVG to Avast - what is the correct process to follow? (I.e. Remove AVG, DL Avast, install etc)?

Thanks...

Yep, that's pretty much it. Remove AVG - reboot - then install Avast and reboot again. Job done.

    Download avast ready
Download the AVG removal tool ready
    Download REVO UNINSTALLER ready
If you want to be ultra safe then disconnect from the net (I never bother)
Use REVO UNINSTALLER to (hopefully) completely remove AVG
Run the AVG REMOVAL TOOL as a backup
    reboot
    install avast

Nope DL Avast, then Remove AVG , Install Avast . Use the AVG removal tool to get rid of AVG fully .

Edit Rik's on the ball and his advice is normally better than most.

So do I - DL avast, disconnect from tiniternet, remove AVG, reboot then install avast (without being connected?)

Just making sure I dont get a virus etc during the process...

    Cheers

Unless your machines infected anyways, theres next to no chance of anything bad happening. But sure, what you say is fine to do.

Simply uninstalling AVG wont do though as it almost NEVER completely goes with normal uninstall
