I would just like to say a massive thank you to all who offered support and advice to me whilst I was dealing with Atos and Dwp regarding my Esa claim and medical:).I had my medical a couple of weeks back at home after fighting with atos regarding having a home medical, in the end it was granted and I recieved conformation this morning that I have been placed in the Work related activity group and will be reviewed in nov2011.If I could manage it I would be jumping for joy:j:j:j My question is how much is the increase that i will recieve in my weekly amount, I forgot to ask when I phoned the DWP was just so happy that I wont have to go through the gruelling appeals process

The increase is about £25 a week. Does it not say on your award letter?

    Hi,
Are you claiming Contribution Based EAS? If so, the strong possibility is that you will only be allowed to receive it for a maximum of 12 months.
After that, no one really knows what will happen. Maybe JSA will take over for another 6 months.

However if you are on Income Based (means tested) this will not affect you.

The only sure and certain way of remaining on ESA with the Contribution based claim is to be put in the Suport group. But that does of course depend on the severity of your condition.

The time-limit on contribution based ESA isn't going to come into force until April 2012.

That is quite correct at the moment. But with so many U turns taking place, anything is now possible!
At the very best there is still only16 months that it will be paid for.
